A Selection Of Accurate Motion Picture Story Lines To Check Out

November 24th, 2009

It wasn’t that long ago that a trip to the corner video shop was the most convenient way to get a movie. You can now save a trip to the video store and download movies right off the internet. Following is a list of a few movies that you can get using a movie download site.

Pulp Fiction: This is Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece work. The story weaves around four separate, yet intertwined events. There was an accidental killing, the crime bosses wife’s overdose, the boxer who didn’t throw the fight, and pair of small time crooks trying to rob a restaurant.

Michael Collins: Politically charged tale of Irish insurgent leader Collins (Neeson), who with charm, guts, and idealistic fervor leads the battle against British rule in Ireland. Dynamic and commanding first half gives way to more abstinent and unavoidable summarization, in which Collins is made an ambassador and negotiator, sowing the seeds of his own downfall. Neeson is phenomenal and works with a first-rate cast in this convincing, believable, and powerful period piece, beautifully filmed by Chris Menges. Cast includes Liam Neeson, Aidan Quinn, Julia Roberts, Stephen Rea, Alan Rickman, Ian Hart, Brendan Gleeson, and Charles Dance. (132 minutes,’96)

Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band: Try to link melodies from The Beatles’ classic album into some kind of tale line just doesn’t work; patterns range from reasonable to humiliating. As to The Bee Gees performing ability, well let’s just say that they are not the Beatles. Cast includes Peter Frampton, The Bee Gees, George Bums, Sandy Farina, and Steve Martin. (111 minutes,’78)

Stallion Road: Devoted veterinarian Reagan and novelist buddy Scott vie for the benevolence of horse rancher Smith; low-key drama written by Stephen Longstreet. Cast includes Ronald Reagan, Alexis Smith, Zachary Scott, Peggy Knudsen, Patti Brady, and Harry Davenport. (91 minutes,’47)

The Village: Set in the’th century, people live in a seemingly wonderful little village, but there is a problem. There is a race of ‘creatures’ that live surrounding the village. No one inside the village dares to go outside the city. One person, Luscious Hunt, has a strong urge to see what is out there. Eventually the world outside the village is exposed, and chaos ensues.

Jackie Chan’s Who Am I: Chan is part of a secret armed forces team sent on a lethal mission. He loses his memory, and can’t figure out why people are after him. This is an action film with very little else to it. Cast includes Jackie Chan, Michelle Ferre, Mirai Yarnarnoto, Ron Smerczak, Ed Nelson, and Tom Pompert. (108 minutes,’98)

Road Trip: Josh and girlfriend are in college, but’00 miles apart. When Josh is videotaped having sex with another girl things are still safe. When that tape is accidentally mailed to his girlfriend in Austin, it’s time for a road trip. He and his college buddies go’00 miles so that Josh can try to save his lifelong relationship.

Fantastic Invasion of The Planet Earth: Discharged theatrically in 3-D, this movie was pretty much a disaster. A young couple finds themselves caught in a deserted town encircled in a mammoth bubble. The original title, The Bubble, was far less deceiving: there are no foreigners and no “invasion” in fact, and not much enthusiasm, either. Cast includes Filmed in widescreen Space-Vision. Cast includes Michael Cole, Deborah Walley, and Johnny Desmond. (91 minutes,’96)

Mr. Nice Guy: Jackie Chan, a Television cook, is chased by 2 sets of men who are both after an incriminating videotape that’s fallen into his hands. One of Jackie’s better later films, set in Melbourne and, like most of his best films, an action comedy. Shimmering and arousing fights abound, the best and funniest orchestrated at a construction site. Cast includes Jackie Chan, Richard Norton, Miki Lee, Karen McLymont, Gamelle Fitzpatrick, and Vince Poletto. (113 minutes,’97)
